Abstract：In order to investigate the effect of short carbon fiber on concrete dynamic properties, the steel split Hopkinson pressure bar with Φ74mm is adopted to conduct uniaxial impact compression tests for short carbon fiber reinforced concrete specimens in 6 kinds of short carbon fiber volume contents. The dynamic stress-strain curve of short carbon fiber reinforced concrete in medium strain rate indicates that the dynamic strain of the concrete specimens in various short carbon fiber volume contents are almost the same and the value is about 0.0018. Due to the crack-resistance effect of short carbon fiber, short carbon fibre reinforced concrete can get a certain bearing capacity after peak stress. When the axial dynamic ultimate strain exceeds 0.02, the bearing capacity of the concrete will decrease sharply. Under medium strain rate loading, the relationship between mean dynamic compressive strength of short carbon fiber reinforced concrete and short carbon fiber volume content approximately obeys gauss distribution. The uniaxial impact compression tests of short carbon fibre reinforced concrete show that the reasonable volume content of short carbon fiber is 0.6%.
